Most Linn County value appeals start after the tax statement arrives
The usual first door is the county Property Value Appeals Board, but other tax issues can follow different routes.
The ordinary rule is stable, but a current record, boundary, rate, deadline, or personal fact can change the result. Last reviewed against the listed sources July 18, 2026.
Most Linn County disputes about property value start with the county Property Value Appeals Board. You file after the tax statement arrives. The usual deadline is December 31, or the next business day when that date falls on a weekend or holiday.
Some disputes take a different path. These include exemption denials, special-assessment loss, omitted property, and other non-value issues. They go to the Magistrate Division. Name the exact issue, then use Oregon DOR’s current appeal page and matrix before filing.
