Forest Grove's downtown district has a real boundary

The 2020 National Register district centers on Main Street and Pacific Avenue, while a building's inventory record and current local review require separate checks.

Forest Grove’s downtown National Register district has a boundary. It is not a shortcut for the status of every old building.

NPS says the district was listed on October 26, 2020. One rough edge sits north of 21st Avenue; the others follow Ash, 19th, and A Streets. The City places the old downtown core on Main Street and Pacific Avenue, apart from the home districts.

For one building, check the City’s Historic Properties list before you decide. The Historic Landmarks Board page names the current city review contact. On Main and Pacific, the district is a pattern of blocks; one old building still needs its own record.

The place detail is stable. Check the linked place page for current access, hours, or conditions.

The NPS October 30, 2020 weekly list records the district action; the City's Historic Properties inventory and Historic Landmarks Board page narrow one address.
